AT&T 3G Microcell

Today we installed an AT&T 3G Microcell compliments of AT&T.

Now we get 4-5 bars in our apartment where previously we got 1 if we stood in the front window and raised our left arm just right.

Setup was very straight forward and after the initial ten minutes installing the hardware and configuring the unit, everything was ready to go. It took about an hour and a half for the unit to sync up with the satellite death-ray that is now aimed square at our apartment but we do get better signal so I suppose the tradeoff is worth it.

Next step is to get one for the bunker office!

EDIT: Seventy-two hours on and this is a pretty awesome piece of hardware. While it “shouldn’t” be necessary in a perfect world it allows me to make calls from the apartment which is wonderful in my book.
