Cold Lakefront Run

Tonight Ari and I went for a cold 2.5 mile run down by the lake. It was really wet, rainy, cold, miserable and awesomely fun.

Ari liked yelling into the wind and thought it was funny that her words were carried off immediately.

The waves were pretty huge and the wind was gusting out of the North-East pretty hard. Running south was okay but running back north along the path we kept catching gusts of spray in our faces and I’m pretty sure I got clocked by a stray hailstone at least once.

Surfs up, Chicago.

Ari ran for 5 minutes before her fingers got cold and she hopped back in the stroller (bad dad for not bringing her mittens). She was a champ and made sure to hit every puddle on the path!

When we got home we stuffed newspaper in our wet shoes and set them to dry.

Ari is the best newspaper crumple-er.
